In the past 2 months, CPChain Foundation has issued two ecosystem-related campaign which we think is of great importance to the project --- The RNode Public Test Phase and The Industry Node partnership program. With the efforts from our community as well as the onshore team, we witnessed great results from the events. In the previous S1 Public Test Phase, the community proposed a total number of 80k blocks at the end of one-month-period and most importantly, we got a lot of precious technical feedback from the participants. The Industry Node Partnership Program is still ongoing. We have already announced 6 enterprise level partners who would cultivate the ecosystem of CPChain. And there are a bunch of more partners who will be on board in the future.

During the communication with our industry nodes and RNode test participants, we received a lot of questions and leads from the community, among which the instruction of server selection was most often referred to. In order to clarify the questions, we will have a general sum-up for the entire node system.

There are three types of nodes in the CPChain network. Which are:

  1. Economy Node
  2. Reputation Node
  3. Industry Node

You can see some basic comparison between the three types of nodes in the following chart:

Hardware Requirement

A) Minimum Requirement:

- Memory: 4GB

- Storage: 256GB

- CPU: Intel Xeon E5-1650 v3 (alike)

- Network: 300Mbps

B) Recommended Requirement:

- Memory: 16GB

- Storage: 1TB

- CPU: Intel Xeon E5-2686 v4 (alike)

- Network: 1Gbps

VPS reference

We noticed from the S1 public test phase that a lot of community members had questions in selecting an appropriate cloud service provider to propose blocks, which reminded us of the importance of giving some suggestion in VPS selection. Following are two VPS samples you can choose if you don’t know what to choose from the variety of options online. Please be noted that there is an Admission Control Mechanism (ACM) in the RNode selection procedure. Those who cannot pass the hardware test will not be able to propose blocks even deposits are ready. We suggest RNode owners spend around 50 USD monthly on servers.

  • Basic VPS Plan:

(Option 1)
Amazon Web Service t2.medium

4GB memory, 2 vCPU, located in Singapore.

$0.0584 per hour pay as you go.

$0.03504 per hour pay one year reserved.

Microsoft Azure B2S

4GB memory, 2 vCPU, located in Singapore.

$0.0528 per hour pay as you go.

$0.0309 per hour one year reserved.

  • Advanced VPS Plan:  (These servers are equipped with Xeon Processors.)

Amazon Web Service c5.large

4GB memory, 2 vCPU, in Singapore.

$0.098 per hour pay as you go.

$0.0588 per hour one year reserved.

Microsoft Azure F2s v2

4GB memory, 2 vCPU, in Singapore.

$0.098 per hour pay as you go.

$0.0736 per hour one year reserved.

Reputation (RPT) Assessment Model

As we have revealed in the previous announcement, although the proposer committee will be selected randomly from the RNode pool, the chance of being selected will differ among different RNode owners. The algorithm is designed in the following five aspects.

Account Balance:
CPC token balance in RNode’s account will have a positive correlation with the Reputation Value. It will contribute 50% in the Reputation Value Assessment Procedure (RVAP).

Transaction:
“Transaction” refers to actions in which an RNode uses CPC to buy data in CPChain’s PDash data marketplace. It will contribute 15% in RVAP.

Blockchain Maintenance:
All the committee members will be granted a certain amount of reputation value after blocks being produced by the committee. This part will contribute 10% in RVAP.

Proxy:
Serving as the role of a proxy, an RNode will earn reputation by assisting others in the marketplace. It will contribute 15% in RVAP.

Data Contribution:
A node will earn reputation value by uploading data, it will include base reputation value and bonus. An RNode will earn reputation value by uploading data and will earn a bonus when a related transaction happens. This part will contribute 10% in RVAP.

** Please note that "proxy" and "data contribution" are more related to PDASH platform. Since the platform is going to be released after formal mainnet launch, it means, for now, every RNode will have the same score in terms of proxy and data contribution. **

Node Application Timeline

For economy node, the lock-up session will open to the public alongside with the wallet release.

For RNode and industry node, we will open the functionality of proposing blocks in Mid-July.

For more detailed time please stick to our official announcement next week.
